Apparently I Don’t Know How To Use A Computer.

Maybe you noticed, maybe you didn’t. Yesterday, I thought I published my post. I went all day being slightly bummed out that no one even “liked” my post. I even asked Cody: “Was it really that bad?!” Well, I am dumb. Somehow, it did not publish. I realized this at 7:30pm. Awesome. So if you didn’t visit my blog after 7:30pm PST yesterday, then there are 2 new posts for you. Its a double whammy type of day!

Anyways, I am linking up with Ashley for her favorite things link up. So here are my favorite things from April!

1. Getting a job. Duh.

2. Mendocino.

3. Finishing our deck.
4. Getting taken off the Stitchfix wait list!

5. These bad boys.

6. Drinking flavored water instead of soda and mani/pedis

Happy Tuesday!

Ps. I am also linking up with Tori.

Dear Monday, You Came Too Soon.

This weekend was full of some ups and downs. I nannied until almost 1am on saturday. Oye. They didn’t even come home drunk! I was totally saddened by this because normally when they are out so late, they come home with some fabulous stories. The worst part of the weekend was that one of Cody’s best guy friends moved to Alaska and funny enough, I am actually really going to miss that guy. I didn’t think I would actually be this sad about it. I did some Premier practicing (I still need more people to practice on for my contest so if you wanna help me out and have a skype date, I am all about it!) while catching up with a good friend that I hadn’t seen in a while and got all the latest gossip on our hometown and pool that we used to work at for like 9 years.. Ellie got to go to the vet AGAIN….That goober is getting expensive. Everything happens in threes, right? Hopefully, because I am ready for her to be better and this weekend made 3. Mani/Pedis definitely happened with the bestie this weekend too. I am hoping this shellac polish will hold up with all the hand washing I need to do at work. And to end the weekend well, we went to sushi for Cody’s dad’s birthday and had an awesome trip to target at my favorite target location. No, not all targets are equal.

So now that you read my long boring list of things I did this weekend and also, it being the end of the month and all, here is my list of things that I am listening to this month.

I am trying not to repeat anything that I have put on previous lists and these lists are not in any particular order either.

1. Gone, Gone, Gone by Phillip Phillips

2. Mirrors by Justin Timberlake
I normally don’t really like JT. I was a huge nsync fan though. And by huge I mean HUGE. I really wish they would make a comeback CD. Anyways, I don’t mind this song. Maybe it was because he was on Ellen the other day and he got stuck in my head. I dunno. But I did decide that he looked like the gay guy from the New Normal.
justin and that guy from that show
Which reminds me, I found out that Neil from White Collar is gay in real life and I am totally devastated by this fact. I still randomly bring it up out of the blue and then cody looks at me funny. 😦 So sad. I wanted the option to be there if it ever came about! haha (ok back on track)

3. Call Me Maybe by Carly Rae Jepson
Not gonna lie, totally wasn’t a fan of this song until I saw the video. Then it was hilarious. Now it gets blasted whenever it comes on the radio.

4. Courtesy Of The Red, White, And Blue by Toby Keith

5. Missin’ You Like Crazy by Jon Pardi
This kid is from Dixon, CA which is not that far away from me, people I know, know him. Awesome.

6. Forever by Papa Roach

7. Follow My Feet by The Unlikely Candidates
Totally sounds like Panic @ The Disco. Good memories.

8. Cruise by Florida Georgia Line
This is totally my ringtone.

9. Cups by Anna Kendrick
Ummm how much do you love her and this song!?!?! Girl crush for sure!

10. One Headlight by The Wallflowers
This was my favorite song as a kid. I would turn the dial (yea, the dial) through all the radio stations searching for this song for hours.

11. Whiskey by Jana Kramer
OTH represent!

12. Lover, Lover by Jerrod Niemann

13. Stars by Grace Potter & The Nocturnals

14. Where Is The Love by The Black Eyed Peas & Justin Timberlake

15. Lights by Ellie Goulding

16. Penitentiary by Citizen Cope

17. As It Seems by Lily Kershaw

18. Rain by Patty Griffin

19. Everybody Talks by Neon Trees

High 5 for Friday!

This week seemed to drag on while I was in it, but now that it is Friday I feel like the week just flew by! I am going to keep this short on words, because lets be real, I like pictures better.

PS. I hope I have 5 photos for this post.

IMG_79571. Ellie had her last dose of antibiotics! I am so glad these are over. She had to take 4 a day and they made her not want to eat anything. I am ready for normalness.

IMG_32782. Ellie bein’ all fancy!

IMG_25353. My Stitch Fix arrived!

IMG_20130424_1603064. I broke my somewhat healthy streak and ate a bag full of gummy worms. I was planning on eating that reeses but my tummy hurt from all the worms. I ended up saving it for my lunch.

IMG_20130423_1933555. Yummy delicious dinner with the cheese we got from our anniversary trip.

IMG_20130420_163924Bonus: Who doesn’t love photos of sleepy puppies. (I may have posted this photo on Monday…oops)

That Time I Risked My Life For a Photo Next To A Tree

My Stitch Fix was shipped today. I seriously can’t sit still I am so excited for it to come in the mail! I am trying to be good and not peek at my fix online. SOOOHARD!!

Anyways, here is an outfit to try and take my mind off me having to wait for my fix to arrive. Oye. I am not good at waiting. Also, the awesome thing about this shirt that I got at marshall’s for super cheap is that I can finally wear my Premier Designs Tribal necklace! I have been trying to find something to wear it with for days! P1060328

P1060390PS. I risked my life to take this photo. There were millions (yes, millions) of bees swarming around it!

P1060380Ellie was trying to find a place to poo.

So there you go. I am a lady of few words today.

Happy Thursday!

Warning. This Post Has No Photos.

As most all of you know, I started my job last week. I am a SLPA (I do speech) again. EEK.

I drove to my first day of work thinking it was going to be a pretty normal day. You know, get situated, see some kids, send them back to class, get to know my surroundings, things like that. When I walked into my new school I was greeted by an awesome welcome sign just for me. I then sat down with all the other speechies to meet them and kind of get a feel for the place. Still thinking that everything was going to be pretty normal, I was taken on a tour of my new school. This is where I found out that this was not a typical school. There are less than 10 classrooms and there are no more than 9 kids in each one. My school is where kids attend full time when their own school district doesn’t have the services to provide for them because they all have extremely severe disabilities.

Man, was I in shock. My first instinct was to freak out. I have never had any training or experience with this kind of population before. Also, I was not even close to being mentally prepared for this. I definitely thought it was just a regular school.

I spent my first week doing A LOT of observing. I went through a lot of emotions as well, especially when being told about all the horror stories of teachers/aides getting hurt and all their scars and what nots. Oye. I felt like they were trying to make me run screaming in the other direction.

Somehow in that week of craziness, I ended up not being scared or ready to run. I am completely excited to be working with these kids. And I am now really being able to see what they can do.

I can’t wait to really bond with these kids. Yes there are going to be plenty of ups and downs and I am definitely going to have to be aware of my surroundings a whole lot more than I would normally. But I am excited. It is going to be a completely new experience for me and I am going to learn so much from it.

I probably am not explaining this very well but hopefully you get the jist of it. I am sure you will hear plenty  of stories that tell you about hilarious/awkward/hopefully not that often scary things that happen at my job like boys getting completely naked in front of me….That was weird and about the time I walked back to my office. Thankfully, I don’t have to deal with that.

But yea, so that is my job!

On a half side note, Cody has been the most amazing boyfriend ever since I started this job. He wakes up with me every morning and makes me lunch the most delicious (and pretty healthy) lunch ever. He is seriously amazing.

Also, I have been so much healthier since I started working too. I drink my coffee (black with cream, that delicious french vanilla stuff in the blue bottle) every morning and then from then on I drink my water. I bought a reusable cup with a lid and straw to take to work every day and have been drinking cucumber, lemon, mint water like it is no body’s business. I haven’t really had a soda since last Monday. WHHAAAT! I am super proud of myself!

Happy Wednesday!

BB vs. Ipsy. If You Are Wanting To Read A Classy Post, This Post Is Not For You.

I didn’t post one of these last month mostly because neither subscription was to my liking. This month was better for Ipsy, unfortunately it was much worse for BB. I am giving BB one more month to get its act together so hopefully they can come up with something good.

I will start with my Birchbox.

I was really looking forward to April’s box. I had seen what others were posting on their FB wall and everyone seemed to be getting some pretty amazing stuff! I was totally excited! And then my box came.

IMAG1049I think it is pretty bad when the best thing in your beauty box is chapstick…

IMAG1056Seriously? They give these types of samples away for free. Also, dark spot correcting serum??

IMAG1055Chapstick. At least it isn’t yucky like the other brand they sent me last time…

IMAG1053CC cream. Cool. I don’t use it. I don’t even know what that is…

IMAG1052And leave in conditioner for my normal, not color treated, straight hair. Cool beans.

Also, I got a morning eye cream that is the tiniest thing on earth. I forgot to take a photo of it…

They also gave me a subscription to women’s health which is pretty cool but other than that they got a not so classy letter.

So that was my lame April BB. Sorry I was such a Negative Nancy about it all. I am just gonna blame it on the fact that I am sick.

Now on to my Ipsy bag.

IMAG1045This is really pink. I haven’t tried it yet but mostly because I am a little nervous about the color. Also, I am bummed it doesn’t smell good. It actually smells terrible if I am being honest.

IMAG1046This is a shimmer thing. (wow this post is awful, sorry) I am curious to see what I can do with it. I will first need to find some tutorials on what to do though. HA.

IMAG1047I am all about any sort of hair powder. I need dry shampoo in my life so I am all about trying other products that are similar.
IMAG1048As much as I am thrilled about this being a full size nail polish, I am not a fan of the color. It basically reminds me of a 6 year old…. :/

This types of posts happen when I don’t feel good, apparently. Oops. I didn’t even try to be positive about it. Sorry. Please keep reading my blog. I swear I am not always such a Debbie Downer.

I Am A Horrible Sister.

Weekends are too short! Why must it already be Monday!?

This weekend had a lot of ups and down, but most things were good so I am alright with that. Friday evening was pretty awesome. Tricia over at peasquared and I had a video chat date. We had never talked “in person” before but when I reached out asking people to let me practice my Premier Designs business spiel, she totally said yes! We chatted for like an hour even though my presentation was like 20ish minutes. She probably thinks I am nuts now, but she is absolutely fabulous!

Saturday started off great! I finally got to sleep in! I woke up at 7 (stupid internal body alarm clock thing) and then forced myself back to sleep and slept for a little longer, which was AMAZING. Cody and I also just relaxed in bed for a while catching up on our shows. It was a beautiful morning. What made it even better was that, when we were watching Happy Endings (I love that show!), I checked my email and found this:

Screen shot 2013-04-21 at 9.27.20 PM

AHHHHHHHHH!!!!! I am finally off the waiting list! I seriously overreacted when I got this email. Cody first thought something bad happened, then he thought I was excited about Happy Endings, and then he thought someone got married, then he thought I won money.

Seriously. Best. Email. Ever.

I had been waiting so long to sign up for this but I needed a job first, and then when I finally got a job, I was put on a stupid wait list! Needless to say, I am not good at waiting.

After such a wonderful morning, we went over to my BFFs house and ate lunch and took the dogs to the dog park. After we got back, we noticed that Ellie was all lumpy. Lumpy on her head and her legs. Our awesome day took a quick turn. We gave her some Benedryl and rushed down the street to the emergency vet.

I am a crazy puppy mommy. Don’t judge. Well, $170 later, Ellie is fine. It was an allergic reaction to something but it was really scary and happened really quickly. AND in all fairness, normally when Ellie gets stung she just swells up in one spot and we give her some Benedryl and she is fine. She has never reacted like this before.

Ellie was all sorts of doped up. Cody and I were going to the Taste Of Elk Grove that evening and we didn’t want to leave her by herself so we took her to my Dad’s. They LOVED her all doped up haha. She was totally calm and mellow which is normally the opposite of what she is when she goes there.

IMG_20130420_163924Tired Puppy.

The Taste Of Elk Grove was fun. Cody had gotten free tickets because he wrote a story promoting it so instead of spending $100 for an evening out we spent nothing. HA.

It was fun. SOMUCHFOOD.

There was also a silent auction at the event and they had a “redneck basket” Hilarious.

Sunday we went to my sister’s choir concert.

photo 3

And this the part where I explain to you why I am a horrible sister.  I absolutely HATE going to her concerts. They happen a lot, like a lot a lot AND they are incredibly long. Sunday’s performance was supposed to go from 4-6 and intermission didn’t even start until 6. Seriously. I was not a happy camper. I was totally annoyed. The other thing about this is that she isn’t even singing the whole time. She probably was on stage for a good 30 minutes out of the 3+ hours that the concert was. UGH.

They didn’t even have concession food because the choir company told The Crest Theater (which is a fancy place, her concerts aren’t normally there) not to sell anything but drinks. SOOO, we walked to blimpie’s, which was the ONLY  thing open and bought a bunch of cookies and brownies to eat during the rest of her show. We basically played Hangman her entire concert. Like I said, I am a horrible sister. Don’t judge.

photo 2Dad, Step mom, Sister, and me.

photo 1We totally look alike (note my sarcasm)

photo 5No one can ever say that we don’t try to take normal photos anymore. Somehow they always turn out like this.

On that note, I will say one more thing. I have been wearing more dresses lately now that the weather is warmer and the other day I wore a dress and totally didn’t bother to shave my legs…I have blonde hair and I am lazy. Well don’t worry, I shaved before I threw on this dress and I found this, which is pretty much perfect in all ways.

Happy Monday!

Linking up with Molly for Yolo Monday’s (which now that I work for Yolo county, I hate the term YOLO even more haha)

High 5 For Friday!

Working and blogging is weird. I would normally start writing at like 11:30pm the night before for the next day’s post. Now, I need to be in bed by 10pm (because I am a baby when it comes to sleep) so my posts are done earlier. Also, I don’t do as much during the week because I am at work all day. WEIRD.

Anyways, here is my first H54F from my first week of employment.
1. Being welcomed to my new job! EEK!

photo 22. Sitting at work and my day being made when Cody sends me pictures of this ham.

IMG_20130414_2038213. Went shopping for lunches. Thrilled. SOMUCHFOOD.

IMG_20130414_204159Don’t forget the Uncrustables 🙂

photo 34. Coming home and taking over as much space as possible to veg out.

photo 15. Our grass is growing! I can’t wait to not have a massive dirt patch in our front yard anymore!

So that was my week, how was yours?!

Also, I am still in my contest with my Premier family and get points for practicing my spiel on people, so if you wanna let me skype with you so I can practice, I will totally be your biggest fan. (And try to never write that long of run on sentence again.)

Happy Friday!

Hey wait, I now remember why Friday’s are awesome! I am ready to sleep ALL weekend!

My New Favorite Shirt.

In the grand scheme of things, I have a very small blog. For me, when I look at my views and what not I am excited when if they hit triple digits. Like I said, I am small potata’s! PS. My friends don’t know that I blog so I don’t link things up to my Fb and whatnot so that could be a reason I don’t have too much traffic. I am not really worried about it though.

Well, Cody is a big fan of and he wanted to post our photos of the deck so he just linked my blog up instead of uploading the photos to imgur. It took way less time and we figured I would get a few more hits than normal so why not. Well, my blog pretty much blew up because of it. I got more than 2,000 hits! Which to some of you is nothing, but to me, well I may have just climbed Mount Everest! Holy Crap!

The only downside to this? Now my other totals look so little because we aren’t working with 100s, we are working with 1000s and everything but yesterdays tallies are not even close to the 1000 range.
Screen shot 2013-04-17 at 10.15.33 PMSee what I mean?!?! Oye.

Moral of the story, If you are just looking for hits and nothing else, post to reddit.

Before I got a job, I basically told Cody that “once I got a job, that first paycheck is going to be blown.” Well, I haven’t even gotten paid yet and it is already starting to come true haha. I am going a little overboard with the shopping. I need to stop.

I found the most amazing shirt at marshall’s the other day. It is an all crocheted/lace back and I am in love with it. These photos don’t do it justice. AND it was like $17! Totally golden.

The other awesome thing about this outfit, is that I finally got to wear my new shoes 🙂

IMG_3473This photo is pretty much my favorite of the bunch.

Happy Thursday!

Linking up with RekitaLauren, and Tara

I am adjusting to the working world. It is a lot to figure out, especially since my job isn’t really what I thought it was going to be… We will see how everything works out. But no matter what, it will be a really good learning experience. I am also really involved with my Premier Designs business because of the contest that I am in which means that I have a lot of time that is being used and I am not used to it. I am going to have to figure out my balance and soon.

So until then, please bare with me while I have some really lame posts. Like today. And Monday’s. I will try to throw in some cute photos of Ellie to make them better. But until then, go read my post about redoing our deck. That one is a good one.

Until then, happy Wednesday.
