Stitch Fix Thursday.

My Stitch Fix arrived! Just in time too, because I did not have an outfit ready for you today. webIMG_6460Shirt: Daniel Rainn – Kieraly Heart Print Short Sleeve Blouse: Although this shirt isn’t as bad as I thought it would be, I am not really a big fan of hearts. They kind of remind me of a 12 year old. I am also not loving the material of the shirt. What I did like, was that it didn’t make me look boxy, which was awesome, I just wish it came in a different print. Also, it was $68, which is a lot. This went back.

Skirt: Chris and Carol – Josse Foldover Waist Maxi Skirt: I love maxi skirts. So I was kind of excited to get this one in the mail. I even really like the color. This skirt is totally soft too, however, the cut of it is not right for me. It reminds me of a mermaid cut skirt. It is tight in the butt and then it flares out at the bottom. I am not too comfortable showing so many of my curves. 😦 this one had to go back. Also, it was $48 which for stitch fix pricing doesn’t seem so high but when I think about my favorite maxi skirt that is just as soft and fits me better and is the same type of material, I realize that I got it at target and it was no more than $20 (if that), so I just couldn’t.

webIMG_6471Skirt: 41Hawthorn – Milo Pleated Detail Skirt $48: What you can’t tell in this photo is how awesomely purple this skirt is. I absolutely LOVE the color! And I really like the skirt too. This is being kept.

webIMG_6483Dress: Moon Collection – Austin Floral Jacquard A-Line Dress $78: Now this dress I am really debating about and need your help on whether or not to keep it. So let me know what you think! I like this dress a lot more than I thought I would. It fits nicely and it will be great around the holidays. Also, I own nothing even remotely similar. I am a little concerned about the price though too. $78 for a dress is a little hard to swallow at the moment. I am not even sure why that is bothering me so much right now. I save all month for my stitch fix, so I don’t feel guilty about buying the things that I like. I don’t go shopping any other time (unless I need something specific). So, you tell me (please). Should I keep this dress??

photo-51Here is one of the style cards and I actually had almost everything they had suggested so I tried it out.

webIMG_6489I am not too sure….What do you think??

webIMG_6509Scarf: 41Hawthorn – Janie Lightweight Floral Print Scarf $32: When they said they were sending me a scarf, I didn’t really know how to feel. On one hand, I really love scarves. Honestly, I have so many that I am running out of places to store them. Seriously, I am a scarf hoarder. But on the other hand, I was kind of bummed that I wasn’t getting another piece of clothing. When I saw this scarf I totally loved it. The colors are beautiful and I am on a total floral kick right now so I pretty much couldn’t not keep it. It is even warmer than it looks and feels so it will be great for winter! This I am definitely keeping.

webIMG_6530After all that energy spent trying on clothes, I went back to my comfy-ness and added some jumping for some extra exercise.

Happy Halloween!

The Day We Said Goodbye.

We said goodbye to our front porch tomato plant Sunday night. photo-48Now that it is getting colder, the plant is just getting bigger but not producing many tomatoes. Also, Halloween is almost here and I had no place to put the hay bale.

photo-47See…It is a real monster! It was growing into the roof! So insane!

photo-46So we are now at pumpkins! Just in time for Halloween!

Our porch feels so empty and clean! It feels really nice.

Happy Tuesday!

High 5 For Friday!

Happy Friday! I am so ready for some extra sleep this weekend. I don’t know why this week has been so exhausting.

Here are 5 things that made me happy this week:

photo 11. Ski Swap last weekend. It is a little weird being back on my college campus but totally fun.

photo 22. Ice cream dates with my main man. We definitely had to run to target and get lactaid pills….super nerdy.

photo 33. I got really ambitious and got rid of some shoes. It was hard. Even though most of them I haven’t worn in over a year or they are super worn out (as in, have holes in them) It is so hard for me to get rid of things!

photo 44. My new sweater. Hey! I got rid of 6 pairs of shoes! (I was supposed to be shopping for dresses…oops).

photo 55. This sight may not be exciting to you but for me, this makes me so happy on the inside. Our old PECs wall was awful. The pictures didn’t make sense and most of the photos were totally blurry and you couldn’t even tell what they were, half of the pictures were of items we didn’t have anymore, and honestly, it was just a total mess. I just made icons that we use a lot and out them on the wall so I could grab and go when I needed. I am a total speech nerd sometimes….

So yaay, for Friday! I am off to the pumpkin patch with more kids today!

Help.

I have realized I hate shopping. I don’t mind a trip to Target, but going to the mall to actually look for something I need. Please don’t make me do it! I do not have the patience or the energy for it anymore. Man! Am I really that old?! Thankfully I have stitch fix. Seriously, I would cry without it. I was thinking about this whole mall hating thing when I was there yesterday trying to find a dress to take photos in for our engagement photo session that is happening soon. All I ended up getting was a super cute sweater. whoops. In my defense, NOBODY carries dresses right now (or at least ones that would cover my butt if I had to bend over).

HELP!

Where do I find dresses that won’t kill my wallet? Preferably online, because, you know, I hate the mall now.

Thankfully I have a stitch fix coming soon. Hopefully something good will come in there. I still need good online shopping ideas though. Tell me your secrets!

Speaking of dresses and stitch fix, I got this one in my last fix.

PS. Don’t forget to tell me where to go shopping online for dresses!

Breakfast Muffins.

I don’t know about you, but I am NOT a morning person. Especially these days when I wake up and it is still pitch black outside. I am pretty sure I hit my snooze but more than I am supposed to. I also try to get away with just dry shampoo or shower at night…

This also means that I am not one of those people who wakes up and watches the morning news and drinks their morning coffee on the couch….Not even close. I am lucky Cody makes my lunch every morning or else I would starve! So breakfast is usually not an option.

That being said, I have discovered the fabulousness of breakfast muffins. Make them Sunday night and you have breakfast for the rest of the week.

photo

I originally found the recipe from Martha Stewert. Even though she was a total brat in her video about bloggers, I still love the recipe so I still wanted to share it.

I tweaked it a little bit.

Nonstick cooking spray 1
1/4 cups all-purpose flour (spooned and leveled)
1/2 cup packed dark-brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1/2 teaspoon coarse salt
1 cup old-fashioned rolled oats
3 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
1 large egg
1/3 cup skim milk (We use Lactaid milk and it still works)
3-4 medium carrots, shredded
1 medium ripe banana, mashed

I didn’t put in the raisins, because lets get real. Raisins are gross.

Preheat your oven to 400 and spray your muffin pan with cooking spray. In a large bowl mix together the flour, brown sugar, baking powder, nutmeg, and salt.

Stir in the Oats. Add in the oil, egg, milk, carrots, and banana until it is all mixed together.

Fill up the baking tins. I used a 1/4 measuring cup but added extra because I had more left in the bowl and I didn’t want to make an extra batch or waste any.

Bake them for 23-25 minutes. I heat them up in the microwave for 10-15 sec before I eat them.

It has been amazing. They are super filling and pretty healthy too. Total grab and go breakfast. Martha says they only last about 3 days, but if you put them in the freezer, they will last all week.

I hope you enjoy them!

Happy Wednesday!

High 5 For Friday!

HAPPY FRIDAY! This week went by so fast I can’t believe it!

Here are my top 5 for the week!

1. I bought my wedding dress! I can’t post a photo because Cody reads my blog.

2. My mom made homemade carrot cake! SO good.photo-45

3. Cody took all the old paint (that the previous owners left) to the dump finally! We have only owned the house for 2 years now….insert sarcasm….photo 1

4. Delicious fish tacos.photo 2

5. I made healthy breakfast muffins so I had ready made breakfast that I could take to work with me all week!photo 3

6. And a bonus Ellie picture. photo 4

What were your fave 5 things that happened this week?

Stitch Fix

I don’t have a real outfit for you today. Just what I got in my latest Stitch fix. AND because I fail, and got this fix so long ago, I have no idea the names and or the prices of any of the items. Oops. Sorry.

IMG_6234

I posted this outfit last week but this skirt and this top are both from my latest fix. (Obviously, I kept them both.)

photo-44I kept this dress too. It looks a little blah by itself, but with a cardigan and a belt or a denim jack and a statement necklace, this dress looks awesome!
webphoto 1This dress I sent back. I love love love maxi dresses normally, but this one was fitted and showed off way too many of my unwanted curves. Also, it stopped at a weird length. It cut off right at my ankles, maybe a tiny bit higher. It was weird.

webphoto 2This dress I went back and fourth on for a while. I ended up not getting it because Stitch fix had previously sent me this dress, which looks incredibly similar.

So thats what I got. (sorry for the crappy photo quality, I get lazy and don’t like trying on clothes a bunch of times….

Happy Thursday!

The Heart Of Fall

There are many reasons I love fall. The colder weather, the clothes, the comfort food, being that much closer to winter. You know, pretty much everything.

What I really love though, the fact that my favorite shows are back on TV. And by TV, I mean Hulu+ and downloaded episodes of shows that I am not able to watch on basic CA stations. There are a few shows that I can really get into but there are 2 shows that I really look forward to every week.

Don’t judge. I totally love them and they really make me happy. I get completely sucked in. It is a nice break from reality.

What are your favorite fall shows?

Happy Wednesday!

High 5 For Friday!

This is going to be a no picture H54F because the internet is not working for some reason at our house.

1. REAL spa dates with the bestie.

2. Mani/Pedi Tuesdays

3. went to the pumpkin patch on Wednesday with some of my kids for a field trip and saw SO MANY BABY ANIMAL CUTENESS.

4. Having a good wedding dress shopping experience.

5. NEW JEWELRY! our holiday line came out and all my new jewelry just arrived in the mail. I am so excited.

So yea. There is my H54F. Sorry it was kinda lame because of the lack of photos. I blame the government shutdown.

Happy Friday!

Fall Colors.

I went wedding dress shopping again last night. Every time I go looking for a dress it is just really disappointing. I have had more people be rude to me while shopping for dresses, than I think anyone has been in my entire life. AND I never find anything that I like. So needless to say, I did not have high hopes for this trip. And those feelings didn’t change when I got there either. BUT, they had ONE, count it, ONE, dress that was the silhouette that I am looking for and I kinda think this one could really be THE dress. I was so excited and happy about it. I called my mom and am making her come see it on Friday just to make sure she likes it too. And I really wanted her to be there too. I even called my step mom and asked her if she would like to see it before I made a final decision on it.

I was so excited. But it is hard to stay excited when people (not my mom) ask about the price and then start telling you that it is too much for a dress and that you need to keep looking. Let me put this out there. I AM PAYING FOR MY DRESS. Cody and I are paying for our wedding. Also, this dress I found is UNDER my budget. Every single store that I have gone to has told me that I need to up my budget because I am never going to get what I want with mine. Anyways, I am not so excited.

My point being, if you know someone who is getting married, if you are not paying for something, you have NO right to say anything about the price of something. It just makes the other person feel bummed out.

On a more fun note, I am loving fall and the fall colors!

IMG_6234 IMG_6235

I got this in my latest Stitch Fix and I love the color of this skirt but I have decided I like the way it looks backwards versus forwards (Shhhhhh! don’t tell). The front of it has this huge waist band thing that makes it look like a pregnancy skirt. So if you aren’t wearing it with a belt you have to wear it backwards. It was only $28 (which is super awesome for Stitch Fix prices) so I wasn’t too picky about not wearing it forwards. Have any of you gotten this skirt? How do you wear it? I am super curious to see how other people wear theirs!

Happy Thursday!
