Boots For Days.

Have you ever put your foot in your mouth at work without knowing it? Well, I did that yesterday. To some pretty high up admin people too. The worst part, I didn’t even know I had done something “wrong” until after I had said it. I thought I was trying to end a meeting on a positive note about how our maintenance guys were totally awesome and fixed my sink for me but apparently I didn’t know I had to go through all these fire-y hoops before being able to ask. That probably made no sense. I just feel yucky about it now. BOOOO. Anyways…moving on.

I have a pair of boots from Aldo. They are amazing and I have NO idea what I would do without them. Seriously though, I wear them all the time.

I have been feeling pretty unstylish lately though, so I have zero outfit photos to share. BUT I will share some outfits with amazing boot pairings that I have pinned to my pinterest that I have been coveting for Fall. I may need to try and recreate some of these soon.

Do you have a favorite pair of boots that you love? How do you style them??

Happy Thursday!

Engagement Photo Outfits.

I have had a really difficult time finding something to wear for our engagement photos. Well time is up, our shoot is on Monday. I have what I have, and even though I am not 100% satisfied with the outfits I have chosen, they will do.

Thank you all for your suggestions on where to buy dresses. I ended up getting this one at modcloth.

I do have a question though. Grey or textured beige. Super important question over here. Which set of tights do you like better?

What do you think?? I don’t know which I like better.

And then cody entertained himself by playing with his flash.

My fiancé man is super nerdy but I totally love him.

Stitch Fix Thursday.

My Stitch Fix arrived! Just in time too, because I did not have an outfit ready for you today. webIMG_6460Shirt: Daniel Rainn – Kieraly Heart Print Short Sleeve Blouse: Although this shirt isn’t as bad as I thought it would be, I am not really a big fan of hearts. They kind of remind me of a 12 year old. I am also not loving the material of the shirt. What I did like, was that it didn’t make me look boxy, which was awesome, I just wish it came in a different print. Also, it was $68, which is a lot. This went back.

Skirt: Chris and Carol – Josse Foldover Waist Maxi Skirt: I love maxi skirts. So I was kind of excited to get this one in the mail. I even really like the color. This skirt is totally soft too, however, the cut of it is not right for me. It reminds me of a mermaid cut skirt. It is tight in the butt and then it flares out at the bottom. I am not too comfortable showing so many of my curves. 😦 this one had to go back. Also, it was $48 which for stitch fix pricing doesn’t seem so high but when I think about my favorite maxi skirt that is just as soft and fits me better and is the same type of material, I realize that I got it at target and it was no more than $20 (if that), so I just couldn’t.

webIMG_6471Skirt: 41Hawthorn – Milo Pleated Detail Skirt $48: What you can’t tell in this photo is how awesomely purple this skirt is. I absolutely LOVE the color! And I really like the skirt too. This is being kept.

webIMG_6483Dress: Moon Collection – Austin Floral Jacquard A-Line Dress $78: Now this dress I am really debating about and need your help on whether or not to keep it. So let me know what you think! I like this dress a lot more than I thought I would. It fits nicely and it will be great around the holidays. Also, I own nothing even remotely similar. I am a little concerned about the price though too. $78 for a dress is a little hard to swallow at the moment. I am not even sure why that is bothering me so much right now. I save all month for my stitch fix, so I don’t feel guilty about buying the things that I like. I don’t go shopping any other time (unless I need something specific). So, you tell me (please). Should I keep this dress??

photo-51Here is one of the style cards and I actually had almost everything they had suggested so I tried it out.

webIMG_6489I am not too sure….What do you think??

PS. This also happened:

webIMG_6509Scarf: 41Hawthorn – Janie Lightweight Floral Print Scarf $32: When they said they were sending me a scarf, I didn’t really know how to feel. On one hand, I really love scarves. Honestly, I have so many that I am running out of places to store them. Seriously, I am a scarf hoarder. But on the other hand, I was kind of bummed that I wasn’t getting another piece of clothing. When I saw this scarf I totally loved it. The colors are beautiful and I am on a total floral kick right now so I pretty much couldn’t not keep it. It is even warmer than it looks and feels so it will be great for winter! This I am definitely keeping.

webIMG_6530After all that energy spent trying on clothes, I went back to my comfy-ness and added some jumping for some extra exercise.

Happy Halloween!

I have realized I hate shopping. I don’t mind a trip to Target, but going to the mall to actually look for something I need. Please don’t make me do it! I do not have the patience or the energy for it anymore. Man! Am I really that old?! Thankfully I have stitch fix. Seriously, I would cry without it. I was thinking about this whole mall hating thing when I was there yesterday trying to find a dress to take photos in for our engagement photo session that is happening soon. All I ended up getting was a super cute sweater. whoops. In my defense, NOBODY carries dresses right now (or at least ones that would cover my butt if I had to bend over).

Where do I find dresses that won’t kill my wallet? Preferably online, because, you know, I hate the mall now.

Thankfully I have a stitch fix coming soon. Hopefully something good will come in there. I still need good online shopping ideas though. Tell me your secrets!

Speaking of dresses and stitch fix, I got this one in my last fix.

Stitch Fix

I don’t have a real outfit for you today. Just what I got in my latest Stitch fix. AND because I fail, and got this fix so long ago, I have no idea the names and or the prices of any of the items. Oops. Sorry.

I posted this outfit last week but this skirt and this top are both from my latest fix. (Obviously, I kept them both.)

photo-44I kept this dress too. It looks a little blah by itself, but with a cardigan and a belt or a denim jack and a statement necklace, this dress looks awesome!
webphoto 1This dress I sent back. I love love love maxi dresses normally, but this one was fitted and showed off way too many of my unwanted curves. Also, it stopped at a weird length. It cut off right at my ankles, maybe a tiny bit higher. It was weird.

webphoto 2This dress I went back and fourth on for a while. I ended up not getting it because Stitch fix had previously sent me this dress, which looks incredibly similar.

So thats what I got. (sorry for the crappy photo quality, I get lazy and don’t like trying on clothes a bunch of times….

Happy Thursday!

Fall Colors.

I went wedding dress shopping again last night. Every time I go looking for a dress it is just really disappointing. I have had more people be rude to me while shopping for dresses, than I think anyone has been in my entire life. AND I never find anything that I like. So needless to say, I did not have high hopes for this trip. And those feelings didn’t change when I got there either. BUT, they had ONE, count it, ONE, dress that was the silhouette that I am looking for and I kinda think this one could really be THE dress. I was so excited and happy about it. I called my mom and am making her come see it on Friday just to make sure she likes it too. And I really wanted her to be there too. I even called my step mom and asked her if she would like to see it before I made a final decision on it.

I was so excited. But it is hard to stay excited when people (not my mom) ask about the price and then start telling you that it is too much for a dress and that you need to keep looking. Let me put this out there. I AM PAYING FOR MY DRESS. Cody and I are paying for our wedding. Also, this dress I found is UNDER my budget. Every single store that I have gone to has told me that I need to up my budget because I am never going to get what I want with mine. Anyways, I am not so excited.

My point being, if you know someone who is getting married, if you are not paying for something, you have NO right to say anything about the price of something. It just makes the other person feel bummed out.

On a more fun note, I am loving fall and the fall colors!

IMG_6234 IMG_6235

I got this in my latest Stitch Fix and I love the color of this skirt but I have decided I like the way it looks backwards versus forwards (Shhhhhh! don’t tell). The front of it has this huge waist band thing that makes it look like a pregnancy skirt. So if you aren’t wearing it with a belt you have to wear it backwards. It was only $28 (which is super awesome for Stitch Fix prices) so I wasn’t too picky about not wearing it forwards. Have any of you gotten this skirt? How do you wear it? I am super curious to see how other people wear theirs!

Happy Thursday!

Pattern Love.

I have been trying to venture our of my comfort zone a little bit and mix patterns more. At first it happened accidentally with this outfit and ever since I have been liking it more and more.

I was browsing pinterest (like usual) and found this Pin. 51e08480176be194ed59fc6dc46d9ff5

I loved it. I can’t wear leggings to work though (lame) but luckily I have some black pants that I love. I kinda forgot exactly what this looked like the morning I was getting dressed so it is not exactly the same (but who wants that). Mine is a little more summer-y than this one but there is still time to wear it again with fall in mind.

The best part are these shoes. Every time I saw them at Gap, I loved them. I just couldn’t justify the $50 they were asking for them. Well, a few weeks ago, I walked into Gap and they were on clearance for $10! WHAAT! So exciting! I definitely snatched those up and the rest is history!

Happy Thursday!

Dear Stitch Fix, You Were Doing So Well…

Man, I am totally complaining in these last two posts. So much for not airing my dirty underwear…ha ha..get it…not your dirty underwear! 😉

Anyways, I got my next Stitch Fix the other day and was pretty disappointed.

I was a little bummed when I looked at my receipt and and there was no little note from my stylist. I am all about the little/personal touches from business that really show they care about their customers.

but getting to it….I asked for things that I could wear to wedding activities because I just got engaged. This is what I got.

photo 241Hawthorn: Ivy Solid Tab Sleeve V-Neck Blouse.

photo 1Under Skies: Alvaro Bead Embellished Sleeveless Top
This shirt was super cute. Unfortunately the bottom of it was cut crooked…I don’t know if it was supposed to be that way or not (I really hope not), but that meant it was a no go.

photo 2

photo 4Collective Concepts: Riva Pleat Detail Abstract Print Blouse
This shirt was too big and too short.
Also, it is that same boxy cut that does nothing for me (I have told them this multiple times).

I also got those pink pants:
Kensie Jeans: Winnie Ankle Length Skinny Jean
I love my other Kensie jeans I got from Stitch Fix a while back and these were awesome too. However, they were $88 and I just can’t justify that kind of money for pink pants right now. (Also, they were like a velvety material and I don’t know how well that will hold up in the wash.)

photo 3And then there was this skirt….I didn’t even want to try it on it was so awful. But I was a good sport and I did. I wish I hadn’t. It reminds me of spandex bicycle shorts, but as a skirt instead. I have no idea how you even wear it…

photo 4Oye. So much awfulness. I think this one skirt just killed everything else. The other things may not have been fabulous but, if I hadn’t gotten this skirt, I don’t think I would have been so mad.

Lily: Kye Jersey Printed Swing Skirt

So yea…not so awesome. And really expensive…I am not sure how these prices fit in with “the cheaper the better.”
So I wrote them and had some not so awesome words for them. I swear, if the skirt wasn’t in there, they probably wouldn’t have heard from me. I could have dealt, but that wasn’t the case.

I got a really nice response from them and because the one thing I would have bought (the white lopsided tank) was defective, they ended up having this skirt in my size that I loved when they sent it (but it was too small). So they said they would send me that and put my styling fee towards that. Super awesome!

The only other thing that was wonky, was that they wouldn’t let me schedule another fix until October. So that was weird.

So anyways, you win some, you loose some. It doesn’t make love them any less.

Have you had any blech Stitch fixes?
