Pinning Frenzies.

I was lazy after work today. It is beautiful outside. It is raining and cold and I love it. I got home and for lunch, Cody made Velveeta grilled cheese and tomato rice soup. Basically, my mind is gushy and relaxed and probably not able to find anything interesting to write about. So, if you are already following me on Pinterest, then you may have already seen all this already. But here are a few things I have been loving on Pinterest lately.

You can find all these pins on my Pinterest. I am too lazy to link them all up right now.

What are you loving on pinterest lately?

Happy Tuesday!

Gel Nail Polish

I think Mani/Pedis are probably one of the best things about having a job. When I do my own nails, my right hand always looks really dumb. The only problem with getting my nails done, is that at my job, I seriously wash my hands at least 10 times a day. Every time I see a kid, after I take them back to class, I wash my hands. These kids drool a lot and they really like to put their hands in their mouths. I don’t do bodily fluids well, so hand sanitizer and soap and water have become my new best friends BUT hand washing and nail polish don’t get along too well.

I have reached a discovery. I decided when I was in the nail salon the last time, that I would try getting the gel polish in a solid color. I had gotten the french gel polish for weddings before and thought that it was awesome that there was no dry time and that they lasted longer than regular polish but it didn’t last too much longer than normal. Also, I am one of those people that when it chips, I NEED to pick at the rest of the paint. I can’t just leave it. I know it’s terrible, but I know I am not the only one who does this.

Well I got my nails done on Saturday, April 27. Only this past Sunday, did I finally have to figure out how to take them off! That is a whole 15 days of nail polish without it chipping! I was totally impressed. It was definitely worth the extra $10.

The one con I found with this stuff, is figuring out to take it off. I searched pinterest and (obviously) found plenty of ways. I just felt really silly doing it.

IMAG1110Like I said, I felt ridiculous.

IMAG1107You need these things. You also need one of those wooden cuticle stick thingies. And they did say that you needed a remover with acetone in it, although I didn’t try it with an acetone free remover so I don’t know if it would work or not.

IMAG1109You need to buff the nail polish so that you break through that top clear coat. Then dip your cotton balls in the remover and place on your finger nail. Then cover with tin foil so it stays and wait.

IMAG1113After a little while, you can take them off and start scraping the nail polish off with your stick. This process works so much better if you have another person to help but this way definitely beats the alternative.

Have you found a better way to take off your gel polish?

Happy Tuesday!

Pinterest Cheats.

Is it seriously Thursday already?? How did that happen!? Basically I have no good outfit photos for you. I spent all day in cookies and milk pajamas. Like for real. (Don’t hate. I wasn’t feeling good.)

So this is what you are stuck with. Outfits from Pinterest that I am totally crushing on for spring. (Even though I still want it to be winter.)
Also, Can I please be as skinny and as tan as the girls in the photos? Please? Thanks.

So basically I want it all. Like a lot a lot.

You can find all the original links on my Pinterest Style page. I am too lazy to put them in myself.

For The Love Of Hair.

I am a lazy butt. I am going to blame this whole not having a job thing for that. Yes, I know, I know, I could go do stuff because I supposedly have all this time…but I would rather just blame the my joblessness. (lets not confuse this with me not looking for work) Anyways, if I can get away with not having to get dressed, I don’t. I really like wearing sweatshirts and my UGGs and yoga pants err.. I mean jeans…. No but really though. As much as I like getting dressed, right now I am home most of the time or I am working for my dad (which is at his home office) and the only real time I have to get dressed is for jewelry shows and when I volunteer on wednesdays for the school district (and even there I have slacked off a lot. Hey, at least I am going!)

I am always super jealous when people have awesome hair styles. And I have a board on Pinterest that is called “So I have This Obsession With Cute Hair” and I totally love the small things blog. So why am I not trying any of these hair styles out on myself????? I have no idea! well I do have an idea…it probably has some something to do with my good friend Lazy Mcgee.

I am getting my hair cut (and by cut I mean my bangs will be back to bangs and not just layers) on Saturday and I am planning on trying to do more with my hair then. I am not going to promise glamour-afied hair, because that ain’t happnen, capisce?! But I am tired of my normal second day hair of just pinning my bangs back and being boring.

So if you know of any EASY cute hairstyles that I could try, SHOWTHEMTOME!!! Easy being the key word.

So ya. Hopefully I can stick to this.

Here are a few I want to try out.

PS. I am terrible at teasing my hair, so if you have any tips, I would be totally grateful.

They all look relatively simple, right???

Well, I will let you know how it goes…wish me luck. I am going to need it.

I’m On A Boat.

Ok Ok, I’m not really on a boat. But I did see some!

I look extremely out of place in these photos. It looks like a really nice spring day and I am wearing boots and a scarf and a sweater. But I swear it was cold out! It was the day after Thanksgiving! Sacramento does this to you. You look out the window and it looks like a beautiful day and so you dress for some nice weather. You step outside and only to discover that it is 40 degrees outside! UGH. It gets me every time! And you know the weather channel app is absolutely wrong. That is the one thing I can count on from that app…except it is the only place I go to check the weather. Seriously though, WHY??

webIMG_1035SEE, I told you there were boats!

LCvincesweatertomfordglassewere making me SOOO jealous! I mean, they just look so comfy and adorable! I needed one.
So when I found mine at target, there was no question about getting it. And let me tell you, I have definitely gotten my moneys worth out of it. I wear it all the time!

Anyways, I love target. Can’t you tell?

Black Stretchy Pants.

No. Not jeggings. I refuse to think of them as jeggings. I really hope they aren’t jeggings. I like to think of them as the most amazing pair of pants I own. They are soft and stretchy and SUPER comfy. They also make me feel like I can recreate pinterest outfits. Don’t judge. You know you do it too.

(It is really bothering me how this necklace fell….)

Shirt: Gap
Pants: Target
Jacket: Forever 21

Boots: Aldo

Seriously, Favorite.Pants.Ever.

A while back I posted a bunch of photos of Ellie to see which ones I should send to my grandma to get her to agree to have Thanksgiving at my house. Well, I didn’t need the photos. She said yes before I could even send them. Awesome right?!? Wrong. I have gotten myself into something that I had no idea even existed! AHHHHH! I am pretty sure my my grandparents are expecting Cody and I to announce our engagement (we aren’t engaged….yet). Also, my grandma is assuming I am serving dinner on paper plates….Thanks for the confidence, Grandma. I love you too. Oh my oh my, WHAT have I gotten myself into!

I am not sure how I am going to fit 15 people and 4 dogs into our house to have a sit down dinner, or even where we are going to get a table to fit that many people. But no matter what it is going to be fun. This is also going to be an excellent exercise to test my anxiety and my need to please others. OYE. Thankfully, I won’t be the only one cooking so that is a relief!

I am SUPER excited to decorate, though. Pinterest, you better not fail me now! I need all the help and ideas I can get.

I want these.
I bought the stuff to make these!
If nothing else, Thanksgiving is going to be craft central to me. I can’t wait!
Anyone have any ideas or suggestions for this first timer? I would love to hear your ideas!

This weekend was exhausting. I seriously could have been in bed and asleep at 8pm this evening. Don’t get me wrong, I had an AMAZING weekend. It was just jammed packed full of things. Fun things. But lots of things, none the less. I seriously have too many thoughts that make no connections with each other in my brain right now. <—Like that sentence. I don’t really think that makes any sense but I am going to leave it just to prove my point.

I got to try my hand at this, this weekend.

Don’t they look awesome?!?

Ok, Ok, I lied. those aren’t my nails. Mine weren’t even as intense as those. But let me tell you. I will be the first to say that pinterest has given me unrealistic expectations on how easy it is to DIY nail art.

Here is my attempt:

I used normal tape and blue tape and both tape peeled off the original coats of nail polish. SUPER annoying. So I had to start over and I waited for them to dry a full day before I put the tape on thinking that might work. NOPE. Screw it, keep on truckin. I tried to fix it as evenly as I could but it wasn’t very smooth.

But the magic of Instagram came to my rescue and made them look AMAZING! The internets will never be the wiser! MUAHAHAHA!

You probably shouldn’t scroll any further.

This is what they really looked like. This is the good angle. Lets just say, I won’t be doing this again. It is a cool idea, but WAY too much work to be worth it.
Also, my nails felt really heavy with all that polish on them. I had to take them off after 2 days…OOOPS.

Anyone have any suggestions to make this easier?? Who has tried it? Would you do it again? Was it worth it? Is this enough questions?

Cheesecake Brownies.

My girlfriend is an AMAZING cook. Like super awesome. And not too long ago she came over and made me some cheesecake brownies and they were DELISH. She got the recipe off Pinterest (where all good ideas come from). And they were gone in a matter of minutes. I HAD TO MAKE THESE AGAIN. So I did. Mine weren’t as pretty as the ones in the  photo BUT it ain’t gotta be pretty to be delicious. (You can also click on the photo to take you to where I found the original recipe.)

Here is my handy work. Be impressed.

You will notice some slight differences. Like the fact that I am not super fancy in the kitchen and so I don’t own 365298347 different kinds of pans. I don’t have a mini cupcake pan. I used a normal square pan. Like the kind normal people use when they don’t have a large kitchen.

Also, I am lazy. I didn’t want to spend the whole day doing this and I also didn’t want to go out and buy all the ingredients to make brownies from scratch. I am not Martha Stewart (Even though I do love her). I wanted quick and easy. So I used brownie mix. My fav is the Ghiradelli brownie mix. mostly because it is SOOO delicious. This brand is normally one of the more expensive brands but Target has it for SUPER cheap. You can use whatever kind you like best though.

So I made the brownie mix like I was making normal brownies. Directions on the back of the box. And I poured it into the pan.

Now is where my ultimate cooking skills come into play. The cheesecake mixture. Yum.
You need:
1 (8-oz.) package cream cheese, softened
3 Tablespoons sugar
1 large egg yolk

Mix all of it together. Simple.
Side note: make sure you pre heated the oven.
I mixed mine together and tried to spread it on with a spatula. Which worked but it wasn’t very pretty. You can put it in a bag and cut the tip off and squeeze it on and it will probably be a little easier. But like I said before, I am lazy and that seemed like a lot of work at the time. In retrospect, it probably would have been faster. Anyways, put a toothpick in it and swirl it around to make it look pretty.

Bake it for about 12 minutes or until your toothpick (or fork) comes out clean. I should have cooked mine a little longer because they were a little too gooey. But still good. Let them cool before you cut them up and then enjoy! Let me know if you have ever done these! Or try it out and let me know how it goes!

PS: They taste best when they are warm. You can microwave them too if there is any the next day for you to eat.

PSS: That is cody’s man thumb. Not my dainty womanly one. 😉

I have a love/hate relationship with Pinterest.

Dear Pinterest,

You are making me feel like I have nothing to wear!

Me, the girl who has so many clothes but nothing to wear.

This is my closet.

And the other side…

And my dresser…

…and this is Cody’s closet. I really don’t understand how he survives.

But on a real note…How do I never have anything to wear?!?!
