High 5 For Friday!

Well, it has been a weird week. Went to work Monday and most of my kids were sick, so there wasn’t much for me to do. Tuesday I called in sick. Wednesday, our kids go home early. And then I went to work on Thursday, ready for the day, and ended up going home at 10 am and am now on workers comp. Cool. Go me. So this week might be a little light on the high fiving.

Stitch Fix Thursday.

My Stitch Fix arrived! Just in time too, because I did not have an outfit ready for you today. webIMG_6460Shirt: Daniel Rainn – Kieraly Heart Print Short Sleeve Blouse: Although this shirt isn’t as bad as I thought it would be, I am not really a big fan of hearts. They kind of remind me of a 12 year old. I am also not loving the material of the shirt. What I did like, was that it didn’t make me look boxy, which was awesome, I just wish it came in a different print. Also, it was $68, which is a lot. This went back.

Skirt: Chris and Carol – Josse Foldover Waist Maxi Skirt: I love maxi skirts. So I was kind of excited to get this one in the mail. I even really like the color. This skirt is totally soft too, however, the cut of it is not right for me. It reminds me of a mermaid cut skirt. It is tight in the butt and then it flares out at the bottom. I am not too comfortable showing so many of my curves. 😦 this one had to go back. Also, it was $48 which for stitch fix pricing doesn’t seem so high but when I think about my favorite maxi skirt that is just as soft and fits me better and is the same type of material, I realize that I got it at target and it was no more than $20 (if that), so I just couldn’t.

webIMG_6471Skirt: 41Hawthorn – Milo Pleated Detail Skirt $48: What you can’t tell in this photo is how awesomely purple this skirt is. I absolutely LOVE the color! And I really like the skirt too. This is being kept.

webIMG_6483Dress: Moon Collection – Austin Floral Jacquard A-Line Dress $78: Now this dress I am really debating about and need your help on whether or not to keep it. So let me know what you think! I like this dress a lot more than I thought I would. It fits nicely and it will be great around the holidays. Also, I own nothing even remotely similar. I am a little concerned about the price though too. $78 for a dress is a little hard to swallow at the moment. I am not even sure why that is bothering me so much right now. I save all month for my stitch fix, so I don’t feel guilty about buying the things that I like. I don’t go shopping any other time (unless I need something specific). So, you tell me (please). Should I keep this dress??

photo-51Here is one of the style cards and I actually had almost everything they had suggested so I tried it out.

webIMG_6489I am not too sure….What do you think??

webIMG_6509Scarf: 41Hawthorn – Janie Lightweight Floral Print Scarf $32: When they said they were sending me a scarf, I didn’t really know how to feel. On one hand, I really love scarves. Honestly, I have so many that I am running out of places to store them. Seriously, I am a scarf hoarder. But on the other hand, I was kind of bummed that I wasn’t getting another piece of clothing. When I saw this scarf I totally loved it. The colors are beautiful and I am on a total floral kick right now so I pretty much couldn’t not keep it. It is even warmer than it looks and feels so it will be great for winter! This I am definitely keeping.

webIMG_6530After all that energy spent trying on clothes, I went back to my comfy-ness and added some jumping for some extra exercise.

Happy Halloween!

Help.

I have realized I hate shopping. I don’t mind a trip to Target, but going to the mall to actually look for something I need. Please don’t make me do it! I do not have the patience or the energy for it anymore. Man! Am I really that old?! Thankfully I have stitch fix. Seriously, I would cry without it. I was thinking about this whole mall hating thing when I was there yesterday trying to find a dress to take photos in for our engagement photo session that is happening soon. All I ended up getting was a super cute sweater. whoops. In my defense, NOBODY carries dresses right now (or at least ones that would cover my butt if I had to bend over).

HELP!

Where do I find dresses that won’t kill my wallet? Preferably online, because, you know, I hate the mall now.

Thankfully I have a stitch fix coming soon. Hopefully something good will come in there. I still need good online shopping ideas though. Tell me your secrets!

Speaking of dresses and stitch fix, I got this one in my last fix.

High 5 For Friday!

I am so thankful it is Friday. I am having a hard enough time making it though this week as it is AND I had to take Monday off because I was sick. I was getting better and then all of a sudden yesterday rolled around and the wind picked up… a lot. I don’t know how I made it through the day without a hair tie.

Even though it was a tough week there were some EXTREMELY exciting things that happened.

1380844_10100755905181868_350511502_n1. Holy moly!!! I had the highest grossing jewelry show in all of California during August!!!! Whaaaatttt!!!! Love that I got mentioned in the national newsletter 🙂 SERIOUSLY, so EXCITING!

This is exciting too

1382939_10100754263416978_1265150441_n3. We went to country uncorked on tuesday night. It was an acoustic show with 4 country singers at the local winery. It was nice. Too bad it was so cold though, I hope next year they have it during August, when it is warm at night. The best part was that the winery was literally 15 minutes from our house!
PS. So many girls bought cowboy boots just for that night.

Pattern Love.

I have been trying to venture our of my comfort zone a little bit and mix patterns more. At first it happened accidentally with this outfit and ever since I have been liking it more and more.

I was browsing pinterest (like usual) and found this Pin. 51e08480176be194ed59fc6dc46d9ff5

I loved it. I can’t wear leggings to work though (lame) but luckily I have some black pants that I love. I kinda forgot exactly what this looked like the morning I was getting dressed so it is not exactly the same (but who wants that). Mine is a little more summer-y than this one but there is still time to wear it again with fall in mind.

The best part are these shoes. Every time I saw them at Gap, I loved them. I just couldn’t justify the $50 they were asking for them. Well, a few weeks ago, I walked into Gap and they were on clearance for $10! WHAAT! So exciting! I definitely snatched those up and the rest is history!

Happy Thursday!

High 5 For Friday!

I am just going to get to it. Because I am writing this during the commercials of the new Michael J. Fox show. Needless to say, I am a little distracted.

photo-392. Cody (finally) mounted the TV AND he hid all the wires too! I am thrilled 🙂 It took him months years to hide the wires to the TV that is upstairs. Now we just need to decorate the top of it.

I Changed My Outfit 4 Times Today.

Not writing yesterday was nice, but today I woke up and went through my day with almost a sense of loss. I feel kind of like my best friend who I told everything to just moved away. It was weird. “Go big or go home” that was the joke in high school and in college and I feel like I am not going big anymore so I might as well go home. I need to find a balance that my life is happy with.

Any suggestions on how to figure out a balance?

Anyways, on to happy news, I seriously changed my clothes 4 times today. Not because I didn’t like what I was wearing, but because I was just doing different things. Like this morning I got up and got dressed, then at 1pm, I took my sister to “high tea” which was super cute BTW, but I had to change for that. When I got home, I wanted PJs (of course) and then we had to go grocery shopping which meant putting on the closest thing to me that was acceptable to wear in public.

Since we were going to tea, I decided to wear a pretty dress, because high tea totally screams WEARADRESSYOUKNOWYOUWANTTO. So I did.

IMG_6058I was actually really excited to wear this dress again. I haven’t worn it in forever!

Have you ever gone to High Tea? Did you dress up for it?
